How to enjoy and be consistent on your self-improvement journey
It's possible to grow everyday without burning out.
Success is just a few simple principles followed every day.
And we all know what those principles are, yet we still watch those self improvement videos again and again, to make it feel like we are being productive.
Sometimes we do those habits for months and life goes smoothly, but events happen and our routine gets disrupted.
And then we fall into this cycle of watching self-improvement content but never actually improving.
This happens for 2 reasons, as we talked about in a previous newsletter,
Either you don't have a purpose
Or your purpose isn't clear enough to motivate you everyday
And we are going to expand more on the second point in this letter.
Psychology says that if something is important enough to you, you'll achieve it. If you rely on external motivation to achieve your goals, then it's a huge red flag.
If you want to live a successful life, focus on these 3P's,
Purpose
Productivity
Priority
Purpose driven productivity will take you closer to your goal faster than doing whatever feels like productive.
A man is fulfilled when he works on his own project, and the best project to work on is you.
- Ali Bin Naseer
So, understand that you are only going to be fulfilled when you work on the right project.
Video games are addictive because you know where you are headed, you can see your progress, you know the next step and you are challenged to improve if you wish to do more i.e. get more exciting stuff.
You can make your life a video game and reap the same benefits.

A Simple Way to Get Consistent
I have used this system to get out of a rut many times.
The idea is simple, work on just 2-3 things in your day that you want to work on.
I remember when I first discovered self improvement, I would read books, journal every night, write notecards from books, watch one self-improvement video daily and take physical notes, go to school, walk for 30 minutes, and then learn web development for 2 hours. And also learn Arabic for half an hour a day.
And after doing this for 4-5 months, I fell into a rut and then it took me 6 months to get out of that burnout phase.
The problem, you see, is that I tried to do everything that was told me that I must do for self-improvement.
All I did to turn around my life was to eliminate all of this, identify my problems and work on them. And suddenly my life became more purposeful and happy.
I identified my problems first:
A fatty — exercise daily & eat healthy
No Purpose — I found my purpose and that was to become a physicist, a competent one
Dependence — I still depended on my parents for everything including money, so I had to step in the online business world and make my own money to do my own stuff
These problems were real and had to be solved or else I knew I would be in a very bad situation. And that’s how I got out of this rut.
Your problems have to have dangerous consequences or else you won’t take action. Use the power of negative emotions to change your life.
You are a slave of your subconscious thought. Your conscious and subconscious actions are directly influenced by your subconscious mind.
Purpose is one way to change the subconscious behaviour. If you aren’t excited about the things you do, you will never get out of the rut.
Action Plan
First of all, set a someday goal. A goal that you would like to achieve regardless of money, fame, power or what others think.
Ask yourself, what would you do if money were no object and no one was looking at you.
Then reverse engineer your goals into yearly goals, quarterly goals, monthly goals, weekly goals and daily goals.
When you have enough clarity on your purpose, your mind’s hidden power will be activated and you’ll see ideas flow.
That’s all for this week, Assalam Alaikum ( Peace Be Unto You )
