Money Doesn't Matter
This mindset change about money, changed my life.
I listened to Andrew Tate, Iman Gadzhi, Hamza Ahmad and many other influencers who talked about money like it’s the most important thing.
“Earn money to free your parents”
“Earn money to escape the matrix”
I have a simple question. Why are you trying to escape the matrix? What is the matrix you are trying to escape? You don’t know. You have been fed this bs in the name of freedom.
The matrix is chasing money with a 9 - 5 job. And you want to escape matrix because you don’t want to be under a boss. Makes complete sense.
So why don’t you leave money all together? This way you’ll not have to work a 9-5 job. But you’ll say that money is necessary to live in this world. And you would be right.
The problem is that you think you need to earn money. You don’t need to. What you do need to do is provide value. Whether you are working in a 9 - 5 or you own a business, the only way to earn money is to provide value.
The reason you don’t earn the money you want is because you focus on money instead of providing value. Money is an exchange for the value you provide. When you don’t provide the value, you don’t get the money.
Money is not your purpose, it’s not your goal. The only worthwhile thing to do is to change lives and help others by providing actual value and solving complex problems.
The bigger problems you solve the bigger rewards you get.
“Are they, then, not aware that it is God who grants abundant sustenance, or gives it in scant measure, unto whomever He wills?”
No matter how hard you work, you’ll only get what is destined for you. So why not focus on providing value?
I Changed My Purpose
When I wanted to earn money, I chose web development because it was trendy and looked hot and many people were making money with it.
I learned web development for 3 years and now I quit, because it wasn’t my purpose.
My purpose is to change lives, through my content. I’m more interested in changing lives and learning physics than I am in earning money with web development.
The Magic
After 3 years of learning web development, I saw no progress in life. I was still not a professional developer and I made no money with freelancing because I did not have the required sales and marketing skills.
Almost a month ago, I came across Dan Koe, who is a great thinker and one of the leaders of the digital revolution. He introduced me to the Creator Economy.
The creator economy is just basically creating content on the internet.
I started writing articles on medium & deepstash
I started writing newsletter related to the topics I was interested in
I started creating content related to self-help for Pakistanis ( for changing lives, because that’s my purpose )
Once I thought in terms of providing value instead of earning money, I immediately changed my routine. I’m now a writer and now I’m learning Physics.
The best part is I started seeing progress. In just 2 weeks,
I got 8 subscribers on my newsletter
got 100+ views and 12 new subscribers on my YouTube Channel
got 10k+ reads on my deepstash articles
Consistency
This may not look like much, but after 3 years of work, where I got nothing, I started to see success.
All of this is because of consistency. I work 4 hours a day every.
2 hours devoted to writing daily
2 hours devoted to creating content daily ( writing scripts / editing videos )
I did all of this while being a student. I am in 1st year of college in Pakistan, where I studying ICS. I would call myself an A student, because I am one.
How did I achieve all of this? Consistency.
I devoted 3 hours to college
I devoted 4 hours to my business
The rest of the time, I read books, exercise or go out and play cricket with friends and cousins.
The secret is to not do too much at once. Become a specialized generalist.
Use the Bin’s Law to avoid doing so much at once, while still using the Power of The One Thing.
Bin’s Law
5 hours for your main thing ( physics for me )
2 hours for your second interesting thing ( programming for me )
1–2 hours of learning new things like digital skills ( to generalize )
0 hours means doing something in your free time that isn’t very beneficial but you would like to do so for curiosity
Why would you want to do the same?
Build an audience & monetize it
You love learning? Learn and teach others
You got no one to talk about your interests? Talk about it on a newsletter
Want to make an impact on the world? Write about it publicly
Sometimes at school, you feel very lonely. The reason being, no one is like you. No one has similar interests to you. You’re environment is boring.
Thanks to the internet, you can change that now. You can now learn new things and talk about it with others. The people like you will be attracted towards you which will result in motivation and inspiration.
You’ll get to network with like minded people and solve problems and make a much bigger impact on the world.
